Nigeria Rugby Football Federation
The Nigerian Rugby Football Federation (NRFF) is the governing body for rugby union in Nigeria. It is a member of the Confederation of African Rugby (CAR) and a member of the International Rugby Board.[1]
During the administration as Minister of Sports Sani Ndanusa, control of the Federation was perhaps inadvertently given to members of the Racing Rugby Football Club, raising a question of potential conflict of interest. In response, the International Rugby Board imposed an indefinite suspension on Nigeria in 2009.[2] In January 2010 the NRFF signed a kit sponsorship deal with Puma Sports.[3]
In July 2011 the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) brought together the feuding parties of Nigeria Rugby Football Federation, inaugurating a new board. The NOC Scribe, Honourable Tunde Popoola wiped away tears at the ceremony.[4]
